Description

Visual: Dark garnet red with a purple hue.<br />Nose: The nose of this classic Cabernet-based blend is incredibly<br />flashy with aromas of fresh blueberries, blackberries, super<br />ripe black cherries and underlying tones of earth, crushed<br />graphite, toasted espresso beans and dark chocolate. The<br />French oak is subtle yet present.<br />Mouth: This powerful wine boasts copious amounts of ripe red fruit,<br />blueberry and plum. Dark chocolate and tastefully integrated<br />oak add complexity to the full-bodied mouthfeel, while the<br />texture and flavors linger on the palate for a good 30 seconds<br />after enjoying. Ready to drink now and should continue to<br />evolve for 8 – 10 years.<br />Vintage: 2014 was quite possibly the best growing season we have<br />seen to date since the first vintage of Taken (2007). We saw<br />rainfall in the spring followed by ideal temperatures in the<br />early summer. Very similar to 2013, the days were warm and<br />the nights were cool. The fruit was picked at optimal ripeness<br />early in October.
