Graco Car Seat Recall

August 27, 2007 | News & Press Releases

Graco Children's Products Inc., in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has announced a recall of ComfortSport car seats manufactured in 2007.

These car seats were sold both in Hy-Vee stores and through the Hy-Vee website.

A potentially misrouted lower anchorage belt would affect the car seat if the seat is installed in the rear-facing mode and the belt is attached to the vehicle's latch anchors instead of using the vehicle's seat belt. Misrouting occurs when the lower anchorage belt is misrouted BEHIND the shoulder portion of the harness instead of UNDER the crotch belt/buckle portion of the harness.

The recall affects ComfortSport models manufactured from January 2, 2007 through July 31, 2007.

Models affected by this recall include Graco item numbers 8433FOF, 8C02MRC, 8631DFT, 8C03HAL, 8C01WTN and 8630MTR.

You are not affected by this Safety Notice if you are using the ComfortSport car seat in a forward-facing position and have rerouted the lower anchorage belt according to the instruction manual for use in this position.
