Hy-Vee, Iowa Cubs to Host Pop-Up COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics at Principal Park During Home Games

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (April 30, 2021) — Hy-Vee, Inc. announces today that in partnership with the Iowa Cubs, it will host a series of COVID-19 vaccination clinics during several Iowa Cubs games at Principal Park for ticketholders. Clinics will begin one hour before the first pitch at each game. 

The first clinic will be Tuesday, May 4 at the Iowa Cubs vs. Indianapolis Indians game, which starts at 6:38 p.m. No appointment will be required. Individuals will be able to choose between the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine. Pfizer-BioNTech is available for individuals 16 years of age and older and requires two doses, and the Janssen vaccine is available for individuals 18 years of age and older and requires only one dose. Individuals who receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine can receive their second dose of the vaccine at their local Hy-Vee Pharmacy 21 days after their first dose.

It is recommended (but not required) that vaccine recipients bring the following to their vaccination: insurance card (if they have insurance) and Medicare Part B red, white and blue card (if Medicare recipient); and photo ID. Masks are required. If individuals do not have insurance, they can still be vaccinated.

•    Saturday, May 8, Iowa Cubs vs. Indianapolis Indians                  
•    Sunday, May 9, Iowa Cubs vs. Indianapolis Indians                      
•    Tuesday, May 18, Iowa Cubs vs. Omaha Storm Chasers           
•    Wednesday, May 19, Iowa Cubs vs. Omaha Storm Chasers              
•    Thursday, May 20, Iowa Cubs vs. Omaha Storm Chasers                    
•    Friday, May 21, Iowa Cubs vs. Omaha Storm Chasers                           
•    Saturday, May 22, Iowa Cubs vs. Omaha Storm Chasers
