2022 National Baseball League Hall of Fame inductee 

Hy-Vee and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) are proud to honor friend and sports legend John Jordan “Buck” O’Neil, Jr. on his upcoming induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame this July. Customers are invited to view and take a photo with a replica of an art piece by Phil "Sike Style" Shafer during the Buck O'Neil Tip of the Cap Art Tour at participating Kansas City area Hy-Vee stores, listed below. During the tour, customers can also enjoy a FREE cookie themed to #22 in commemoration of Buck’s jersey number, watch a tribute video and shop exclusive merchandise from the artist with a portion of proceeds benefiting the NLBM. Buck O'Neil 'Tip of the Cap' Art Tour

Hy-Vee and the NLBM have commissioned the Kansas City-area artist Phil "Sike Style" Shafer to develop an honorary art piece that reflects Buck's life, legacy, and impact. Customers can view a replica of the art piece and purchase small prints during Hy-Vee's Buck O'Neil 'Tip of the Cap' Art Tour. During the tour, customers can enjoy a FREE cookie themed to #22 in commemoration of Buck’s jersey number, watch a tribute video and shop limited-edition Buck O'Neil merchandise - plus receive a free postcard (while supplies last). Shafer's original art piece will be revealed on this web page following a special unveiling at the Prairie Village Hy-Vee on March 29. Submit a bid below between March 29 and July 24, 2022, to win this specially commissioned original art piece. The original art piece is 24" x 36", hangable and perfect for any sports fan. Continuously check this web page for updates on the highest bid amount. The winning bidder will be notified the week of July 25. The winning bid will be donated by Hy-Vee to the NLBM.

Bids are due by 11:59 p.m. on 7/24/22. No limit on the amount of bids submitted. The winning bidder will be notified the week of July 25 via phone and email as well as invited to a special check presentation at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO. About the Artist: Phil "Sike Style" Shafer

Phil Shafer, aka Sike Style, channels his creative energy in many ways. For 20 years, he has run his successful art business, Sike Style Industries, a design-focused mural company based in Kansas City, MO. His creative practice now includes large-scale murals, fine art paintings, and integrated brand marketing.

His love of street art and graffiti has led him to community and corporate projects, showcasing his desire to transform bland or vandalized surfaces with colorful uplifting images that inspire and create dialogue. When working with clients, Shafer is able to blend his style with brand standards to create welcome and vibrant artwork for product marketing, fan activations, offices, living and educational spaces.
