All-Star Marinara Sauce

Description
Look like an all-star in the kitchen when you whip up this chunky homemade marinara. Veggie lovers can add peppers and mushrooms; and for you spice lovers, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes.

1 small onion, finely chopped | ||
6 garlic cloves, chopped finely | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt | ||
¼ tsp. freshly ground Hy-Vee black pepper | ||
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee Italian seasoning | ||
1 (28 oz) can Hy-Vee crushed tomatoes |
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and sauté until onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.
- Add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning and tomatoes. Simmer until sauce thickens, about 1 hour.
