2 c. Hy-Vee flour | ||
¾ c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar | ||
1 c. Hy-Vee slivered almonds | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking soda | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking powder | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt | ||
¼ tsp. Hy-Vee cinnamon | ||
⅓ c. Hy-Vee honey | ||
⅓ c. water | ||
¼ tsp. almond extract |
Directions
- Whisk together flour, sugar, almonds, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, water and almond extract; add to dry ingredients and mix well.
- Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide in half and form each portion into a log about 12 inches long and 3/4-inch wide. Place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes. Leave oven on.
- Place logs on cutting board. With serrated knife, cut each log diagonally into 1/2-inch slices, using a sawing motion. Place slices cut-side up on baking sheet. Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Centers will be slightly soft, but will harden as they cool.
- Cool on wire racks before storing in an airtight container.
