½ c. light corn syrup | ||
¼ tsp. salt | ||
1 tsp. anise oil | ||
1 tsp. red food coloring |
Directions
- Mix sugar, water, syrup, and salt in saucepan. Heat mixture slowly, sitrring constantly until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a rapid boil and cook to 300 degrees (candy thermometer) or hard-crack stage; add coloring and anise oil. Rock the pan; do not stir.
- Pour into buttered pans and cut into squares before cold. Also works great to pour into 2 miniature ice cube trays sprayed with Pam.
