2 tbsp. Hy-Vee brown sugar | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee ground cinnamon, divided | ||
1 lemon wedge | ||
Ice cubes | ||
2 c. apple cider | ||
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg | ||
ground cloves | ||
4 oz. whiskey | ||
2 tbsp. lemon juice | ||
2 (12 oz each) bottles IPA beer | ||
8 cinnamon sticks | ||
½ apple, cored and cut into small wedges |
Directions
- On small plate, combine sugar with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Rim 6 high-ball glasses with lemon wedge; dip each glass in sugar mixture until evenly coated around rim. Fill each glass halfway with ice; set aside.
- To make the cocktail, combine apple cider, remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves; bring to boil. Simmer for 2 minutes; remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain; stir in whiskey and lemon juice.
- Divide evenly among glasses; top up each glass with beer. Garnish each glass with cinnamon stick and apple wedge.
- Tip: Prepare this recipe with Baraboo Lumberjack IPA for really great flavor.
