Broccoli, Bacon and Mushrooms

4 c. fresh broccoli florets (about 1 pound) | ||
¼ c. chopped Hy-Vee bacon slices | ||
3 clove(s) garlic, thinly sliced | ||
2 c. sliced cremini, baby Portobello or button mushrooms | ||
Kosher salt, to taste | ||
Red pepper flakes, to taste |
Directions
- In a saucepan, cook broccoli in boiling salted water until tender. Drain; set aside.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet cook bacon over medium heat about 5 minutes or until brown and crispy. Drain off excess fat. Add garlic to bacon in skillet; cook for 30 seconds. Add mushrooms to skillet; cook and stir for 3 minutes or until they begin to brown. Stir in broccoli. Season to taste with salt and red pepper flakes.
