2 c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar | ||
¾ c. red-hot candies | ||
Several drops red food coloring, optional | ||
6 firm, tart cooking apples, peeled and cored |
Directions
- In a large skillet, combine water, sugar, red-hot candies and, if desired food coloring.
- Cook and stir over low heat until candies are dissolved. Add apples. Simmer uncovered 20-30 minutes or until tender, turning apples over once and spooning liquid over occasionally.
