1 lbs. lean ground beef | ||
½ c. chopped onion | ||
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded, minced | ||
1 tsp. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee chili powder | ||
¼ tsp. ground chipotle chile powder | ||
4 (15 oz) can Hy-Vee tomato sauce | ||
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, cut in half horizontally, toasted |
Directions
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, stir to break up. Add onion, jalapeno pepper, brown sugar, chili powder and chipotle chile powder.
- When beef is browned and onions are soft, stir in tomato sauce. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer until thickened, about 8 minutes.
- Top the bottom half of each bun with chili joe mixture. Cover with top half of each bun.
