    6 large Granny Smith apples
    6 craft sticks
    1 (14 oz) pkg caramels, unwrapped
    2 tbsp. Hy-Vee half-and-half
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    1 c. Hy-Vee milk chocolate baking chips
    1 c. chopped nut topping

    Directions

    1. Remove stems from apples and press a craft stick into the top.
    2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and half-and-half. Microwave 2 minutes; stir in vanilla.
    3. Quickly roll each apple in caramel; allowing excess to drip off. Place on a greased sheet of waxed paper. Allow caramel to set, about 2 hours.
    4. Place baking chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 20 seconds; stir. Repeat until melted.
    5. Spread each apple with chocolate until well-coated. Sprinkle chocolate with nut topping. Allow chocolate to set, about 1 hour.
