    1 (14.5 oz) can Hy-Vee chicken broth
    1 c. water
    1 large bunch collard greens
    ¼ tsp. cracked black pepper
    crushed red pepper
    4 slice(s) Hy-Vee pre-cooked bacon

    Directions

    1. In a large saucepan, bring chicken broth and water to a boil.
    2. Meanwhile, wash the collard greens thoroughly. Remove the stems that run down the center by holding the leaf and cutting away the stems. Slice into 1-inch pieces.
    3. Add black pepper, crushed red pepper and collard greens to boiling broth in saucepan.
    4. Cover and cook over medium heat for 45 minutes or until tender. Drain.
    5. Meanwhile, warm bacon according to package directions and chop coarsely. Toss bacon with collard greens before serving.
