Frozen Chocolate Mint Ice Cream Dessert

| 1 (1 pound) pkg Oreo cookies, crushed | ||
| ½ c. margarine, melted | ||
| ½ gal. chocolate mint ice cream, slightly thawed | ||
| ½ c. margarine | ||
| 1 c. powdered sugar | ||
| 1 (5.3 oz) can evaporated milk | ||
| 1 (6 oz) pkg chocolate chips | ||
| Cool Whip whipped topping, thawed | ||
| chocolate shavings, optional |
Directions
- Combine cookie crumbs with melted margarine. Press into the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch pan. Freeze.
- Spread slightly thawed chocolate mint ice cream over the Oreo crust. Freeze.
- Meanwhile, combine margarine, powdered sugar, evaporated milk and chocolate chips in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer. Cool. Spread over ice cream layer.
- Spread Cool Whip on top of ice cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired. Freeze.
- Keep frozen.
