Grilled Pork Burgers

½ lbs. Italian sausage | ||
1 tbsp. barbecue seasoning | ||
1 tsp. kosher salt | ||
1 tsp. freshly ground pepper | ||
4 slice(s) cheddar cheese | ||
4 kaiser rolls, split and toasted |
Directions
- Preheat grill to medium-high and lightly oil the grates.
- Combine pork, sausage, barbecue seasoning, salt and pepper in a bowl, tossing gently with your hands. Shape meat into 4 patties slightly larger than the split kaiser rolls to allow for shrinkage. Grill 4 to 5 minutes per side. In the last 2 minutes of grilling, top burgers with cheese and place buns on the grill. Internal temperature of the burgers should be 165 degrees when done.
- Serve burgers on toasted rolls topped with Summer Slaw (see recipe on hy-vee.com) and Chow Chow Sauce (see recipe on hy-vee.com) (or your favorite barbecue sauce).
