4 c. green apples, peeled, cored & diced
1 lbs. raisins
¼ lbs. candied citron OR candied orange peel
1 c. dry TSP (textured soy protein)
zest of 1 lemon, minced
1 c. orange juice
¾ c. apple juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
¾ c. brown sugar
½ c. molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. cloves

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in large pot.
  2. Simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Fills two 9-inch pies or use as a filling for baked apples or for yeast coffeecakes.
