Description

Dyed devil eggs are a colorful addition at any holiday or kids’ party. Unlike colored Easter eggs, these hard-boiled eggs are first peeled, then dyed.

2 tbsp. Hy-Vee white distilled vinegar, divided
10 drops red food coloring gel
8 drops blue food coloring gel
6 Hy-Vee large hard-boiled eggs, peeled; divided*

  • 2 (16-oz.) tall glasses
  • Spoon
  • Paper towels

Directions

  1. Pour 1 cup water into each of 2 (16-oz.) tall glasses. Stir 1 Tbsp. vinegar and red food coloring gel into one of the glasses; stir remaining 1 Tbsp. vinegar and blue coloring gel into the other glass.

  2. Add 3 peeled eggs to each glass. Let stand for 6 to 8 minute or until tinted to desired shade of color. Remove eggs from tinted water; pat dry with paper towels.
