    1 (6-oz.) can Hy-Vee tomato paste
    1 c. water
    2 tbsp. chopped Italian parsley
    2 tsp. Hy-Vee dried basil leaves
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee dried oregano leaves
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee black pepper
    Hy-Vee salt, to taste
    Lasagna
    1 (16-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee lasagna noodles
    1 (15-oz.) container Hy-Vee whole milk ricotta cheese
    ¾ c. Soirée grated Parmesan cheese
    1 Hy-Vee large egg , beaten
    2 tbsp. chopped Italian parsley
    2 tsp. kosher salt
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee black pepper
    3 (8-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee shredded mozzarella cheese

    Directions

    1. For meat sauce, cook ground beef, bacon, onion and garlic in a Dutch oven over medium heat until ground beef is brown (165 degrees), stirring occasionally to break into crumbles. Drain and discard drippings. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, basil, oregano and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 50 to 60 minutes or until desired consistency, stirring often. Season to taste with salt. Let cool.

    3. For lasagna, cook lasagna noodles for 12 minutes according to pkg. directions. Drain and rinse with cold water; set aside.

    4. Stir together egg, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper in a medium bowl; set aside.

    5. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. To assemble, spread 1 cup meat sauce in bottom of a 13x9x2-in. baking pan. Arrange 4 cooked lasagna noodles on sauce. Top with one-third of the ricotta mixture, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella and 1 1/3 cups meat sauce. Repeat layers 2 more times with noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese and meat sauce. Top with remaining lasagna noodles, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. Cover tightly with foil.

    6. Bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more or until cheese begins to brown. Remove from oven; cool 15 minutes before serving.
