¼ tsp. baking soda | ||
¼ tsp. salt | ||
¾ c. buttermilk | ||
zest of 1 lemon | ||
¾ c. chopped nuts | ||
¾ c. granulated sugar | ||
juice of 1 lemon |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray three 9-by-5-inch loaf pans with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in buttermilk. Add lemon zest and nuts. Divide among prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- While bread is still warm, glaze with mixture of sugar and lemon juice.
