2 lbs. lean ground beef | ||
1 c. skim milk | ||
½ c. ground flax seed | ||
½ c. dry bread crumbs | ||
½ c. chopped onion | ||
1 egg, beaten | ||
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce | ||
1 tsp. black pepper | ||
1 tsp. garlic powder | ||
1 tsp. dry mustard | ||
½ tsp. celery salt | ||
¼ tsp. ground thyme | ||
¼ c. ketchup |
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, milk, ground flax, bread crumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, garlic powder, dry mustard, celery salt and thyme. Mix well.
- Pat mixture into a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.
- Spread ketchup over top of loaf.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1-1/2 hours, until no pink remains.
- Remove from oven and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Remove from pan, and place on a platter to serve.
