1 c. butter, softened, or shortening | ||
1 c. brown sugar | ||
1 c. granulated sugar | ||
2 eggs, beaten well | ||
1 tsp. vanilla | ||
1 ½ c. flour | ||
3 c. uncooked oats | ||
1 tsp. baking soda | ||
1 tsp. cinnamon | ||
1 tsp. salt | ||
½ c. chopped nuts, optional | ||
½ c. raisins, soaked in hot water and drained, optional |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, oatmeal, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nuts and raisins. Drop on cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove cookies to wire rack to cool.
