⅔ c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar | ||
½ c. Hy-Vee vegetable shortening | ||
⅓ c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar | ||
1 Hy-Vee large egg | ||
1 tbsp. Hy-Vee skim milk | ||
1 ½ tsp. grated orange peel | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract | ||
1 c. Hy-Vee flour | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking soda | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking powder | ||
2 c. Hy-Vee Crispy Rice cereal, crushed to 1 c. | ||
1 c. Hy-Vee semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Beat granulated sugar, shortening and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg, milk, orange peel and vanilla; beat well.
- Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add to sugar mixture; mix well.
- Stir in cereal and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons 2-inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute before removing to racks to cool.
