    ⅔ c. Hy-Vee granulated sugar
    ½ c. Hy-Vee vegetable shortening
    ⅓ c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar
    1 Hy-Vee large egg
    1 tbsp. Hy-Vee skim milk
    1 ½ tsp. grated orange peel
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla extract
    1 c. Hy-Vee flour
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking soda
    ½ tsp. Hy-Vee baking powder
    2 c. Hy-Vee Crispy Rice cereal, crushed to 1 c.
    1 c. Hy-Vee semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Beat granulated sugar, shortening and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg, milk, orange peel and vanilla; beat well.
    3. Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add to sugar mixture; mix well.
    4. Stir in cereal and chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons 2-inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.
    5. Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute before removing to racks to cool.
