Slow-Cooker French Dip and Mushroom Sandwiches

2 lbs. chuck roast | ||

1 (2 oz) envelope Hy-Vee onion soup mix | ||
2 c. fresh sliced mushrooms | ||
8 hoagie buns | ||
8 slice(s) Hy-Vee Swiss cheese |
Directions
- Place chuck roast into a 4 to 6-quart slow cooker.
- Combine water and onion soup mix. Stir well. Pour over chuck roast. Add mushrooms.
- Cook covered on HIGH for 6 to 8 hours. Remove roast from broth.
- Shred roast with a fork.
- Using a slotted spoon, remove mushrooms and set aside.
- Strain broth and skim off fat. Pour broth into small cups for dipping.
- Serve warm beef on hoagie buns topped with a slice of cheese and mushrooms.
