    1 tbsp. ground cumin
    1 tbsp. paprika
    1 ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 tbsp. ground turmeric
    1 ½ tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    6 tbsp. lemon juice
    3 lbs. chicken pieces, legs and thighs work best
    olive oil

    Directions

    1. Combine cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, turmeric, black pepper, garlic and lemon juice in a large resealable plastic bag. Add chicken, seal and massage spice mixture into chicken. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
    2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    3. Place chicken on a rimmed baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Discard marinade.
    4. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over. Bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, basting often.
