Directions
- Meanwhile, whisk together milk and egg in a heavy saucepan. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a separate bowl and whisk into milk mixture. Add butter.
- Heat over medium heat. Stir slowly and constantly until mixture thickens and starts to boil. Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla and hot rice. Allow to cool briefly before serving. Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
