Teriyaki-Glazed Turkey Meatballs

1 lbs. 93%-lean ground turkey | ||
½ c. Hy-Vee whole wheat bread crumbs | ||
½ c. thinly sliced green onions | ||
1 large carrot, shredded | ||
1 Hy-Vee large egg, beaten | ||
2 tbsp. Hy-Vee honey | ||
2 tbsp. Hy-Vee soy sauce | ||
2 tbsp. dry white wine | ||
1 garlic clove, minced | ||
1 tsp. fresh ginger root | ||
1 tsp. sesame oil |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine turkey, bread crumbs, green onions, carrot and egg. Form into 26 (1-inch) meatballs and place on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 minutes or until internal temperature of meatballs reaches 165 degrees.
- Meanwhile, for teriyaki sauce, in a small saucepan combine honey, soy sauce, white wine, garlic, ginger root and sesame oil. Simmer over medium heat until mixture thickens, about 5 to 8 minutes. Brush teriyaki sauce on cooked meatballs before serving.
