Directions
Combine egg, ricotta, mascarpone, 1/4 cup Romano cheese, and Italian seasoning. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in prepared dish. Layer half each of potato puffs, cheese mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup Romano cheese on top.
Bake, uncovered, 45 to 50 minutes or until puffs are golden. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with oregano and crushed red pepper, if desired.
