Our Recommendation:
Nasacort Allergy 24HR
How Can It Help?
Nasacort works to reduce inflammation and helps to relieve these common allergy symptoms: runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and nasal congestion. Relief of symptoms should be seen within 24 hours, but it may take up to a week to see the full effect.
How Should I Use It?
In adults and children 12 years of age and older, use 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Once symptoms improve, you may reduce to 1 spray in each nostril once a day. In children 6 to 12 years of age, 1 spray in each nostril can be used once a day, and if symptoms don’t improve, it can be increased to 2 sprays once a day. In children 2 to 6 years of age, use 1 spray in each nostril once a day. To use the nasal spray, first shake it gently. Then, if it’s the first time you are using the bottle or you haven’t used it in more than 2 weeks, you should prime it by pumping it away from your face until a fine mist appears. Next, blow your nose to make sure nostrils are clear and then close off one nostril and insert spray nozzle in other nostril. Point the nozzle slightly away from center of nose and, while inhaling, press down on pump to spray once in nostril. Repeat in other nostril.
Important Considerations:
The most common side effects include headache, irritated nose or throat and nosebleeds.
Nasacort is scent-free and alcohol-free.
Do not use more than once a day.
Do not use in children under the age of 2.
The growth rate of some children may be slower while using this product, so only use for the shortest amount of time needed to get relief of symptoms. If needed for more than 2 months out of a year, talk to the child’s doctor.
