Our Recommendation
As we enter the holiday season, it seems cold season is in full effect. Do you feel like you can’t breathe through your nostrils? If so, check out your Hy-Vee pharmacist’s pick of the month, our generic Hy-Vee Nasal Four Nasal Spray (compare to Sinex).
How Can It Help?
Hy-Vee Nasal Four Nasal Spray contains 1% phenylephrine HCL, a decongestant which helps open up the nasal passages and allows easier breathing and relief of nasal congestion.
How Should I Use It?
Shake the bottle well before each use. When using the spray, keep your head in an upright position, insert the tip of the nasal spray into the nostril, and push down firmly on the atomizer while inhaling slightly through the nostrils. For dosing instructions, see the chart below.
Age | Dosing |
Adults and children 12 years and older | Use 2 to 3 sprays in each nostril up to every 4 hours as needed |
Children under 12 years old | Do not use |
Important Considerations
- If you have high blood pressure or a history of cardiovascular disease, consult a health professional before use.
- If you have a history of diabetes, use caution when taking this product. Phenylephrine can increase blood sugar levels.
- If you have BPH, this product can increase difficulty with urinating. Ask a doctor before taking this product.
- If you have a history of glaucoma, consult your doctor before starting this product. Phenylephrine can increase eye pressure.
- Do not use this product to treat nasal congestion for more than three days consecutively. This can cause rebound congestion, which can lead to worsened nasal stuffiness.
