What happens during the two 30-minute appointments per month with my Hy-Vee Dietitian?
During each 30-minute session, your Hy-Vee dietitian will help track and manage your health and wellness goals. Everyone’s session will look different as this program is designed for you. Your Hy-Vee dietitian will discuss your plans, current programs, and strategies for achieving your goals.
What are On-Demand Freezer Meal Workshops?
On-Demand Freezer Meal Workshops are virtual classes that help you prepare five freezer meals to feed four to six people. Class includes Aisles Online link with ingredients already added for you and grocery list grouped together by department to make shopping for everything you need easy. Guidance for substitutions based on dietary needs provided as well.
What are wellness classes?
Exclusive access to a library of weekly wellness classes focused on hot trending nutrition topics, as well as delicious product recommendations and recipes to add to your routine.
What nutrition programs are offered in the Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription?
There are several nutrition programs that are offered to you as a part of the Healthy You subscription. They include:
- Healthy Habits Menu Program: An eating plan designed to help support a sustainable and balanced lifestyle. Each seven-day menu includes nutritious meal plans and snack ideas, along with simple recipes and a convenient grocery list.
- Balancing Your Blood Sugar Virtual Program: If you have prediabetes, diabetes or gestational diabetes our Hy-Vee dietitians can help you through an action-based virtual group program to reduce sugar intake, control cravings and help reduce inflammation. The virtual sessions are designed to facilitate positive behavior changes through nutrition education, healthy goal planning, group discussions and more.
- Weight Management Program: Weight management is a personal journey that can be customized to fit your lifestyle and goals. That's why our team of registered Hy-Vee dietitians work one-on-one with you to develop a plan that will not only be sustainable, but also deliver long-lasting results. During this program you will receive resources and recommendations on building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Lessons can be viewed at your convenience.
- Personalized Nutrition Shopping Assistance: During this one-hour shopping experience, your Hy-Vee dietitian will guide you through the grocery aisles to provide product recommendations tailored to your lifestyle and nutrition goals. Whether you are looking for assistance with heart health, diabetes, weight management, or are seeking better-for-you ingredients, our Hy-Vee dietitians can help you find both delicious and nutritious solutions. This program is only offered at participating locations.
What are wellness challenges?
Wellness challenges are quarterly challenges focused on improving overall health and wellness. Challenges can include hydration and increasing your vegetable intake, etc. When you complete the wellness challenges, you are entered to win prizes, such as Hy-Vee gift cards, exercise equipment, wellness baskets, and more!
What is the Hy-Vee dietitian private chat portal?
The Hy-Vee dietitian private chat portal is a great way to connect with your dietitian about product and nutritional questions. It’s also an easy way for you to share your wellness wins and help you stay on track with your health and wellness goals.
What are the two free health screenings per year?
If you’re enrolled in the Hy-Vee Healthy You program, you are eligible for two free health screenings per year at participating Hy-Vee locations. You may choose from the following screening options:
- Hemoglobin A1C Screening: A simple finger stick that measures your average blood sugar level over the past three-month time period. Individuals living with pre-diabetes or diabetes use the A1C information to help manage their blood glucose levels.
- Biometric Screening: A combination of measurements and readings that may help in identifying potential risk factors for chronic diseases or conditions such as heart disease, hypertension or diabetes. A finger stick will be used to determine cholesterol levels, triglycerides and glucose levels. Your dietitian will also take your resting blood pressure, measurements of height, weight, and waist, and will calculate body mass index.
- Omega-3 Index Screening: An omega-3 index screening is administered via a simple finger stick to determine the levels of omega-3 in your body. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to the body as they support a healthy heart. They also work to lower cholesterol, specifically triglyceride levels. The omega-3 index screening measures the amount of omega-3 in the bloodstream and can help identify heart-risk factors.
- Vitamin D Screening: Administered via a simple finger stick. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that helps support strong bones, facilitate normal immune function and aid in the absorption of calcium.
What if I don’t complete my two 30-minute appointments per month with my Hy-Vee dietitian?
If you cannot complete your two 30-minute appointments with your Hy-Vee dietitian within the designated month timeframe, you may roll them over to another month.
Can a household share the Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription?
Because this subscription is designed to provide personalized support, the Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription may only be used by one person and cannot be shared within households.
Who can enroll in Hy-Vee Healthy You?
Anyone over the age of 18 who wants to take control of their health and wellness in a more personalized way can enroll in the Hy-Vee Healthy You program.
What does it mean if my location only offers virtual coverage?
You’re still eligible to participate in this subscription and receive many of its benefits, however, to receive your two free health screenings and/or personalized nutrition shopping assistance, you will need to travel to a participating location with an in-store dietitian.
When will I be charged for the Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription?
You will be charged $99 every four weeks. Once enrolled, the credit card on file will be automatically charged each month. Individuals must commit to a minimum of 3 consecutive months due to program access. All recurring Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription fees are billed to the credit or debit card you registered with your Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription. If you subscribe to the subscription services, we will automatically bill you in advance for your subscription fees every four (4) weeks.
Can I suspend/cancel my Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription?
Yes, you can suspend or cancel your Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription, by contacting your Hy-Vee dietitian directly. Individuals must commit to a minimum of 3 consecutive months due to program access.
How can I pay for my Hy-Vee Healthy You subscription?
You can pay for your subscription online via debit, credit, or HSA card. At this time, we do not accept Hy-Vee gift cards.
Can I use my Health Savings Account (HSA)?
Yes, we do accept HSA for payment.
