We're terrible at secrets, so here goes... Each of these desserts has been lightened up using our favorite healthy baking tricks. We promise everyone will love them, even if you choose not to share their healthy secret.
Cranberry-Orange Pistachio Bread
For gifting or brunching, this nutritious loaf is packed with a healthy dose of dried cranberries and pistachios. Plus, we replaced part of the flour with whole wheat flour and used orange zest to bump up the flavor.
7-Layer Bars
Typically a rich and insanely sweet treat, also known as "magic bars," we lightened up this dessert by using a homemade condensed milk and naturally sweet dates instead of butterscotch.
Gingerbread Bars
You may have heard of using black beans in brownies... Well, that's exactly what we did here. What you get is a dense, fudge-like brownie full of warm spices and smothered in a cream cheese frosting. All for only 200 calories a bar.
Apple Sticky Rolls
They look like sticky rolls. They taste like sticky rolls. And yet, they're somehow better for you than traditional sticky rolls.
Raspberry-Swirly Cheesecake Brownies
By using reduced-fat cream cheese to replace a portion of the brownie batter, we were able to shave off calories but add a rich and creamy texture. Win-win.
