Directions
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, basil, oregano and pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 50 to 60 minutes or until desired consistency, stirring often. Season to taste with salt; cool.
For lasagna, cook lasagna noodles for 12 minutes according to pkg. directions. Drain and rinse with cold water; set aside.
Stir together egg, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt and pepper in a medium bowl; set aside.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. To assemble, spread 1 cup meat sauce in bottom of a 13x9x2-in. baking pan. Arrange 4 cooked lasagna noodles on sauce. Top with one-third of the ricotta mixture, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella and 1 1/3 cups meat sauce. Repeat layers 2 more times with noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella cheese and meat sauce. Top with remaining lasagna noodles, meat sauce and mozzarella cheese. Cover tightly with foil.
Bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more or until cheese begins to brown. Remove from oven; cool 15 minutes before serving.
