    3 medium acorn squash, halved and seeded
    1 ½ c. packed Hy-Vee brown sugar, divided
    6 slice(s) uncooked Hy-Vee center-cut bacon, divided
    Hy-Vee black pepper, to taste

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Place squash halves cut-side-up in a 9-by-13-inch pan.
    3. Place 1/4 cup brown sugar into each squash shell. Top each with 1 chopped slice of bacon. Sprinkle with black pepper.
    4. Bake uncovered for 1 hour.
    5. Serve warm.
