Renee Soper
Chef Renee began her Hy-Vee career in 2007 as a demonstration chef and Meat Department clerk at Olathe Hy-Vee #2 while attending the culinary arts program at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. After graduating with Dean's Honors with a degree in hospitality management, Chef Renee relocated to Madison to assist in opening the first Hy-Vee store in Wisconsin. Chef Renee has managed the Italian Express Department as well as Chinese Express and Sushi departments. Chef Renee also contributed her culinary knowledge in the Madison Hy-Vee Kitchen Department and assisted with catering operations.
Prior to her formal culinary education, Chef Renee spent a year at the world-renowned Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, where she honed her skills as a chef in the tenets of vegan, vegetarian and special dietary needs cuisine. During her tenure at The Esalen Institute, Chef Renee was mentored by seasoned Big Sur chefs and chefs from the Culinary Institute of America.
Chef Renee is honored to be the store chef at Madison 1, and is excited to bring her education, culinary experience and passion for creating cutting-edge cuisine.
