Community gardens help people learn about healthy eating and nutrition by growing their own fruits and vegetables. One Step Russet Potato purchases help finance the construction of 10 large-scale community gardens each year.
Each time you purchase a five-pound bag of One Step Russet Potatoes, you’re helping provide opportunities for communities throughout the Midwest to learn more about health and nutrition through planting, tending and harvesting their own produce. More than 740 One Step community garden grants have been awarded since 2011. The One Step community garden program is now focused on finding large-scale community garden projects that can help make an even bigger impact on communities and customers.
