16 oz. Italian-style smoked sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices | ||
½ c. chopped red onion | ||
1 c. chopped green bell pepper | ||
2 garlic cloves, minced | ||
¼ c. red wine or water | ||
1 (26 oz) jar Hy-Vee traditional pasta sauce | ||
1 (16 oz) pkg Hy-Vee spaghetti | ||
½ c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese |
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage 8 to 10 minutes or until cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Saute onion, pepper and garlic in pan for 3 minutes or until tender. Return sausage to the pan and add wine. Cook 2 minutes or until wine has evaporated.
- Add pasta sauce and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package directions; add to sauce and toss with Parmesan cheese.
