1 (8 oz) can Hy-Vee tomato sauce | ||
1 (4 oz) can Hy-Vee pieces and stems mushrooms, drained | ||
2 c. Hy-Vee shredded mozzarella cheese |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membrane. Set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown sausage, onion and garlic. Drain. Mix in tomato sauce and mushrooms.
- Fill each pepper with about 1/2 cup sausage mixture. Place into an 11-by-7-inch baking dish. Top each pepper with 1/3 cup shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes or until filling reaches 160 degrees.
