Stuffed Pizza Burgers

1 lbs. lean ground beef | ||
¼ c. finely chopped onions | ||
¼ c. finely chopped green peppers | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee Italian seasoning | ||
Hy-Vee black pepper, to taste | ||
4 slice(s) Hy-Vee mozzarella cheese | ||
4 tbsp. Hy-Vee pizza sauce, divided | ||
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Combine ground beef, onions, green peppers, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Shape into 4 (4-inch) patties.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Top with a slice of cheese. Bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees and cheese is melted.
- Spread 1 tablespoon pizza sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a cheeseburger and the top of each bun.
