ROCHESTER, Minn. (June 1, 2026) — The helpful smiles of two local Hy-Vee employees are now featured on the side of a semi-trailer to recognize the outstanding level of service they provide to customers.
John Hazuka, pharmacy delivery driver at the Kasson Hy-Vee, and Bryant Meyer, bakery cake designer at the Circle Drive Hy-Vee in Rochester, are both 2025 recipients of the Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award, which recognizes exemplary achievement in providing service that exceeds customers’ expectations.
John Hazuka’s picture was unveiled Monday morning during a celebration outside the Rochester North Hy-Vee where he worked for more than 25 years, mostly as a produce clerk. Hazuka has worked for Hy-Vee since 1990, serving in a variety of roles. No matter what his position, Hazuka always finds ways to connect with customers and co-workers.
“Taking the deliveries out and making contact with some of those senior citizens who might not get a lot of contact, just to bring a little smile to their day, makes it all worth it,” Hazuka said of his current role. “That’s what our company is built on.”
Bryant Meyer’s picture was unveiled Monday morning during a celebration outside the Circle Drive Hy-Vee. A Hy-Vee employee since 2009, Meyer still loves his work because of the variety and the opportunity to push his creativity to new levels.
“I get to do something different every day,” Meyer said. “Every order is different, every customer has different needs. Just being able to be part of all that and make something new every time is just kind of fun.”
Hy-Vee first started featuring long-serving employees on semi-truck wraps in 1997, and it has since become a cherished tradition at the company.
