Skip the salon. Learn how to paint your nails ombre from the comfort of your own home. Just order your favorite two colors of Essie nail polish and get to painting with our simple how-to or watch our YouTube playlist!

    Start with a base coat.

    Apply 2 coats of your favorite base color. For this ombre effect, we used 2 coats of Essie Mint Candy Apple.

    Now, softly drag your alternate color from the nail tips towards the nail beds ending at the middle of each nail. For this how-to, we used Essie Saved by the Belle.

    After scraping most of the polish of your base color off the brush. Go back in with your original color (Essie Mint Candy Apple), to blend the fade.

    Use a small paintbrush or beauty brush dipped in nail polish remover to clean edges.

    Add your topcoat and allow to dry completely.
