½ c. Hy-Vee butter, softened | ||
½ c. Hy-Vee unsweetened applesauce | ||
½ c. Hy-Vee sugar | ||
1 Hy-Vee large egg | ||
1 tsp. Hy-Vee vanilla | ||
2 ½ c. Hy-Vee flour | ||
½ tsp. Hy-Vee salt | ||
14 tsp. fruit spread |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cream butter, applesauce and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Beat in flour and salt. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 1 inch apart on baking sheets. Press thumb in center of each cookie to make a small well.
- Bake 14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely. When cookies are cool, fill each indentation with 1/2 teaspoon fruit spread.
