    ½ (8-oz.) pkg. Hy-Vee cream cheese, softened
    ⅓ c. Hy-Vee powdered sugar
    1 tsp. peppermint extract
    1 (8-oz.) container Hy-Vee frozen original whipped topping, thawed
    ¼ c. crushed peppermint candy canes, plus additional for garnish
    Drops red food coloring gel, for garnish
    Assorted cookies and/or Crav’n Flavor chocolate graham cracker, for serving
    Assorted fruits, such as strawberries and apple slices, for serving

    Directions

    1. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar and peppermint extract in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until well combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, if desired.

    2. To serve, fold ¼ cup crushed candy canes into cream mixture. Transfer dip to a shallow serving platter or bowl. Gently swirl in drops of food coloring gel using a toothpick or a small knife. Garnish with additional crushed candy canes, if desired. Serve with cookies, graham crackers and/or fruits.
