1 (2-1/2-oz.) pkg. Crockery Gourmet seasoning mix for pork
1 (3-to-1/2-lb.) Hy-Vee True Duroc prok shoulder roast
1 c. Fat Boy Haugwash BBQ sauce
12 Hy-Vee Bakery cocktail buns, split
Red onion, sliced, for serving
Fresh jalapenos, sliced, for serving
Fresh cilantro, if desired

  • 6-quart slow cooker

Directions

  1. Stir water and seasoning mix in a 6-quart slow cooker until combined. Cut roast in half. Place in slow cooker; turn to coat. 

  2. Cover and cook on HIGH for 5 hours or LOW for 8 hours or until pork is fork-tender. 

  3. Remove pork from slow cooker. Shred pork using two forks. Reserve 3/4 cup cooking juices in slow cooker; discard remaining juices. Stir in barbecue sauce and shredded pork. 

  4. Serve in buns. Top with red onion strips, jalapenos, and cilantro, if desired.
