We love beer brats! Char them on the grill and finish cooking them in a aluminum pan filled with beer, chicken broth, and onions to keep them juicy and flavorful. Or, grill them and keep them warm in this mixture so everything's ready when everyone is ready to dig in.
Directions
In a disposable aluminum pan, combine wheat beer, chicken broth, and onions. Cover with aluminum foil and set aside. Place bratwursts and beer-filled aluminum pan on preheated grill and cook until a deep char develops, about 6 to 8 minutes, turning once halfway through.
Remove aluminum foil from top of pan, place charred bratwursts in beer mixture and re-cover with aluminum foil. Continue grilling until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees, about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from grill; drain, reserving onions and bratwursts.
If desired, toast each split bratwurst bun for 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. Top toasted buns with bratwurst, onions, and desired toppers. Serve immediately.
