    ¾ c. Hy-Vee brown sugar, packed
    ½ c. Sam Adam's Boston lager beer
    ¼ c. agave nectar
    5 slice(s) hickory-smoked thick-cut peppered bacon, coarsely chopped
    2 tsp. kosher salt, plus additional for serving
    1 tsp. smoked paprika
    1 dash(es) Hy-Vee cayenne pepper
    3 c. whole raw almonds
    ½ c. Hy-Vee sliced almonds

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil. Spray foil with nonstick spray; set aside.

    2. Combine brown sugar, beer, agave nectar, bacon, 2 teaspoons kosher salt, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring mixture to boiling. Boil 15 minutes or until mixture reaches a syrup-like consistency, stirring often. Stir in almonds and cook 2 minutes more.

    3. Spread almond mixture on prepared baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Cool on a wire cooling rack and break into bite-size pieces.
