    Servings and Ingredients

    Ingredients
    Serves 4
    QuantityIngredientAdd
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee flour
    1 tsp. Hy-Vee garlic powder
    1 tsp. seasoned salt
    ½ tsp. onion powder
¼ tsp. Hy-Vee ground black pepper
4 bone-in pork chops (about 2 pounds total)
    ¼ c. Hy-Vee unsalted butter
    1 large onion, sliced
    2 c. water

    Directions

    1. Combine flour, garlic powder, seasoned salt, onion powder and black pepper in a wide shallow bowl. Dredge pork chops in seasoned flour. Reserve seasoned flour.
    2. Melt butter in a very large skillet over medium heat. Add pork chops and brown each side, about 5 minutes per side. Remove pork chops from pan and let rest on a plate lined with paper towels.
    3. Lower the heat to medium-low and add sliced onion to the pan. Cover and cook, stirring frequently, until browned, about 15 minutes.
    4. Increase the heat to medium, sprinkle reserved seasoned flour over onions and stir until flour is completely incorporated. Whisk in water and continue stirring until bubbly.
    5. Return pork chops to the pan. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until pork chops are fork tender. Serve pork chops smothered with onion gravy.
