    ½ c. butter, softened
    1 ½ c. granulated sugar
    2 large eggs
    1 c. sour cream
    2 tsp. vanilla, divided
    2 ¾ c. flour
    ½ tsp. baking soda
    ½ tsp. baking powder
    ½ tsp. salt
    ½ c. butter, melted
    1 lbs. powdered sugar
    1 to 3 tbsp hot water, if desired

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    2. Beat softened butter and granulated sugar. Beat in eggs. Beat in sour cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    3. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
    4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. When cool, frost.
    5. To make frosting, beat together melted butter, powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla together. Stir in 1 to 3 tablespoons hot water to reach desired consistency. Frost cooled cookies.
